Steps To
Our tutoring program is designed to empower students to become self-confident, independent, inquisitive thinkers and learners. Improving overall student success is the foundation of which this company was formed. Our tutors are well versed in the infrastructure of elementary education, phonics instruction, as well as strategies to improve students’ Reading Comprehension, Fluency, Vocabulary and Mathematical acquisition.
Pre-K through 5th Grade
Our Tutors work with students in grades PreK- 5th to provide academic support and strategic interventions through data-based instruction. These interventions will be based upon individual student needs. An initial assessment will be given to determine the student’s strengths and weaknesses, and benchmark assessments will be given throughout the year to determine student’s mastery in core content areas. Our tutors will consistently communicate with parents to discuss strategies the students’ can use at home as well as at school. Creating and building a team to assist in holding your child accountable for his/her learning is key, and our tutors will do just that!

We offer virtual and face to face tutorial services, where the tutor comes to you, educational advocacy, and educational consulting for families and businesses.
What grades do you serve?
We provide tutorial services for scholars in grades PreK-5th grade.
What type of tutoring services do you offer?
We offer virtual and face to face tutoring for scholars who need support in
English Language Arts and Mathematics.
How much does your service cost?
We are a tuition-based company. Currently, our services are $217.00 per month for 1 hour of tutoring per week, and $387.00 per month for 2 hours of tutoring per week.
How do I sign up for tutoring?
Please contact our center at purposefulmindined@gmail.com or call 404-981-8329 to speak to a team member about your scholar’s needs. After speaking to a team member, you will receive an application to complete and return. You can also visit our website, www.purposefulmindseducation.org, to retrieve the forms. Once you have completed the forms, scanned, and returned them, you will be instructed to submit your $60.00 registration fee.
Will I have the same tutor every week?
Yes, once your scholar is assigned a tutor, the tutor will remain with the scholar for the academic school year. If a change to the assigned tutor is made, you will be notified.
How many sessions does a child receive?
Sessions are based on the calendar month, and the monthly package you sign up for (1 time per week or 2 times per week). Each session will be a total of 50 minutes of instruction and 10 minutes of additional time (i.e., time spent in "warm up" activities, reviewing progress with student and/or parent, stretching breaks, etc.) We are closed during holidays and scheduled breaks. Those sessions can not be made up.
Do you provide any types of assessments?
Every scholar receives a diagnostic assessment before entering the program. Benchmark assessments will be given during the middle of the year and at the end of the year. Informal assessments and progress monitoring will also be given during their to determine student growth and mastery of content.
Do I have to sign a contract for services?
Yes, all parents have to sign a contract for the academic school year. A section of the contract will ask to select your scholar’s monthly educational tuition package. Once you have selected your scholar’s package, a 30-day written notice is needed to change to a different package and/or to end services.
